The Chalet Ortles is located in St.Valentin auf der Haide, in an idyllic location between the Haidersee and Reschensee in the Upper Venosta Valley. The picturesque village is still one of the few in South Tyrol that has been able to retain its rustic core. With fewer than 900 inhabitants, everything is manageable, within walking distance and you quickly feel at home.

Upper Venosta Valley

The Chalet Ortles is embedded in the mountains of the Upper Venosta Valley, one of the most beautiful holiday areas in South Tyrol. As the uppermost part of the Adige Valley, the Upper Venosta Valley offers a lot of nature, culture and tranquility. From the Reschen Pass south down the valley to Prad am Stilfserjoch, it has a great variety of culture and landscape.

Lake Resia

Just a 15-minute walk from the chalet, you can reach the most famous lake in South Tyrol, the Reschensee. The famous sunken tower in the lake is the landmark of the Upper Venosta Valley. At the same time, the 6km long Reschensee is the largest lake in South Tyrol and a popular excursion destination for families and those who are active in sports.

Lake Haid

The little brother of the lake Resia is the lake Haid, which is our neighbor. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the Alpine region. With a 4.5 km long shoreline, it is ideal for romantic walks.
